SERVICES

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING

$145 (50 mins) | $90 (30 mins)

A safe space for you to discuss personal issues, mental health problems and life transitions, with the goal of empowering you to overcome adversity. I assume that you are the expert of your own life, and will work collaboratively with you to develop understanding, strengthen your capacity to cope and assist you in discovering new beginnings.

EMDR
THERAPY

$165 per session (50 mins)

An evidence-based therapy that facilitates the processing of ‘stuck’ or traumatic memories in the brain. We will identify stressful events from your past that have led to your current issues/symptoms. I will then use bilateral stimulation (eye movements) to activate the innate healing capacity of your brain. Overtime, traumatic memories become less intense and less painful.

FAMILY
COUNSELLING

Starts at $165 per session (50 mins)

Provides an opportunity for members of your family unit to collaboratively work together through difficulties. We will focus on understanding the root cause of behaviours and emotions, and building strengths. I believe that improving communication and sharing perspectives allows for deeper appreciation and empathy between individuals.

*Please note - appointments outside of regular hours (9-5pm) will attract an additional fee.

FAQs

I know that making the decision to seek mental health support can be overwhelming and confronting, but it doesn’t need to be. I hope some of this information helps to ease your mind a little, otherwise please get in touch with further questions.

  • Short answer - no. Anybody can seek Counselling at any point in their lives, and you certainly don’t have to be in a mental health crisis to do so. Although your GP may suggest you see a Counsellor, you don’t require a referral from them to access my support.

  • I have completed a Bachelor of Psychological Science, a Graduate Diploma of Rehabilitation Studies and a Master of Counselling. I also believe in lifelong learning, so regularly engage in ongoing professional development and training as well.

  • Counsellors are currently unable to access Medicare rebates for their clients. However, individuals with eligible private health insurance cover are able to claim rebates from their provider. I am registered with Bupa, ahm, Medibank, HCF and ARHG.

  • Counselling does not have an expiry date, and there are no ‘shoulds’ in how long you access support. It all depends on your individual needs and goals. Collaboratively, we will work together to plan our time and decide when you can support yourself independently from Counselling.

  • Initially, I will be interested in getting to know you and the reason/s that brought you to Counselling. I want to support you to find a sense of comfort and trust in the space, and then I will be guided by what you feel ready to share. We will also set some goals together about what you would like to get out of Counselling sessions.
